A Christmas message from Pete Jupp
As 2010 draws to a close I just thought I’d have a reflect back and thank a few people for making this year as good as any I can remember for us FM boys.
Our year started with a sold-out album launch party at The Roadhouse in London. More hugely successful headline live shows in Sheffield, Glasgow, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle, Manchester, Buckley and London followed in the spring, summer and winter. It was an absolute honour to be asked to play the main stage at Download alongside Aerosmith and other rock music legends. It was a fantastic feeling playing on that huge stage, and seeing the appreciative crowd swell with each song was a real buzz I can tell you. Our resurrected Christmas Party in December nearly fell foul of the weather but most people managed to get there somehow. Respect! We finished off our live assault with a trek into the wilds of North Wales and Hard Rock Hell - it turned out to be a fantastic night. Over the previous months I’d heard nothing but great stuff about the weekend and let me tell you everything I heard was true.
Metropolis came out in March and was very warmly received by fans and critics alike. We are very proud of the album and are so pleased you, our fans, think the same. We’re already hard at work on the follow-up.
Another amazing first for us was getting two songs playlisted on national radio after all these years of trying. We’d also like to thank all the regional and internet stations for their support during the year.
So what about 2011? Well hopefully more of the same really. We’d like to get out playing live in Europe and beyond, and there are schemes being hatched and plans afoot on that front as I write.
Winding up I just have to thank a bunch of people for working their butts off for “Team FM”:
Adrian Bell, Lidia Samson, Steve Strange, Julian Turner, John Spear, Richard Lloyd, Steve, Jo, Ali, Phil, Warren, Charles, Smudge - our crew, Dave Ling, Chris D’Adda, Jeff Knowler, John Oz, Ant Critchley, Dawn Foley, Craig Lawton, Dave and Tiff Thomas, Steve Price, Paul Anthony, Andy Fox. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some very important people but please forgive me… it's Christmas… you know who you are. Once again a special shout goes out to Firefest organisers Kieran and Bruce for pestering and cajoling us into getting back together... It really is all your fault fellas. :-)
And finally, the biggest shout of all goes out to you, our loyal, patient fans. The love we’ve felt from you all since 1984 right up to now is the reason we do this. We’re loving every single minute of our reunion and with every twist and turn we’re grateful you’re along for the ride because without you it would be a bit pointless. Thanks for spending your hard-earned cash on coming to shows, buying CDs, T-shirts etc. We really do appreciate it.
It just leaves me to wish you all the most fantastic Christmas and a happy, prosperous, but above all healthy and peaceful New Year! Thanks once again, God bless each and every one of you.
Love, light and peace,
Pete Jupp xxx

If anyone is wondering whether this will be THE unmissable Christmas Party of the Year here's a little info about the evening...
Four Wheel Drive will open proceedings at 7.10pm. Their brand of high rollin' rock 'n' roll has been getting rave reviews and we highly recommend you check them out. 4WD will be filming on the day for their first live DVD. Check out the 4WD website for more info on the band.
Good friends of FM, Airrace need no introduction. They will be taking to the stage at 8.10pm and there's a whisper that their set will include a couple of brand new songs from their currently-being-recorded new album. Don't miss them! Click for more info on Airrace.
Keeping the evening running smoothly will be Master of Ceremonies, none other than DJ Steve Price of ARfm. Mr Bah Humbug himself will be playing some cool Yule music in between bands and ensuring that matters get very out of hand...
... and so to FM. We've always loved our Christmas shows and on December 1st we're planning to have an absolute blast. To help us celebrate the evening we'll be sharing the stage with some very special guests. More details soon...
As 2010 winds down, we would like to thank everyone for helping to make this year a fantastic year for the band.
You've wholeheartedly embraced our new songs on METROPOLIS and CITY LIMITS EP and you've sung your hearts out at our shows. We can't wait to see you at our Christmas Party and at Hard Rock Hell on December 3rd. We're excited about what 2011 holds for FM and look forward to going on that trip in your very good company. FM to release City Limits EP in October
After the fantastic success of our WILDSIDE EP, and from talking to fans at recent live shows, we are happy to announce we will be releasing the stonking CITY LIMITS EP.
The EP - featuring 9 incredible tracks - includes the radio edit of "Bring Back Yesterday" and a brand new song "Start It Up". This fantastic track will only be available on the CITY LIMITS EP and as a download - it will not feature on our next studio album. Also included is a stripped-down and sexy acoustic version of the FM classic "That Girl". As if that wasn't enough there's more...
During the band's recent live activity selected shows were recorded and the EP features live versions of "Wildside", "Hollow", "Metropolis", "Over You" and "Flamingo Road", all taken from this year's acclaimed METROPOLIS album. Bringing up the rear is another extended mix - this time "Bring Back Yesterday" gets the DJ Juppy knob-twiddling treatment.
CITY LIMITS EP will be officially released and on sale in the FMofficial webshop on October 11th for £6.00 + P&P. Those wishing to get their hands on a copy prior to the general release date can do so as the EP will be sold at the band's forthcoming October UK live shows.
Full tracklisting -
Bring Back Yesterday (Radio Edit) / Start It Up / That Girl (Acoustic Version 2010) / Wildside (Live) / Hollow (Live) / Metropolis (Live) / Over You (Live) / Flamingo Road (Live) / Bring Back Yesterday (City Limits Extended Mix)
