Hot on the heels of the release of their 10th studio album ATOMIC GENERATION, UK’s melodic rock finest FM started their tour cycle with a stunning appearance in front of the Frontiers Rock Festival crowd in Milan, Italy. FM offered up a set which included fan favourites and classic songs from their first two albums, "Indiscreet" and "Tough It Out", alongside cuts from recent releases "Heroes & Villains" and the aforementioned "Atomic Generation", along with some surprises, such as the 1987 single "Let Love Be The Leader," thrown in the mix.

THE ITALIAN JOB documents this show. An absolute gem of an album, it is unmissable not only for FM followers, but all fans of the melodic rock genre.

Bassist and founder member Merv Goldsworthy says: "Knowing we were recording and filming the show there was a lot more pressure this time. But that aside we knew the Italian fans and the fans travelling from around the world would not let us down. We need not have worried as you will see from the footage, it was a marvellous evening. We were blown away by the audience reaction. This is the only live album that features some of the newer material from Metropolis, Rockville, Heroes And Villains and Atomic Generation. It's a good representation of where the band is today."

FM to release new album INDISCREET 30 in October - Pre-order open now

30 years on we are happy to announce that we have decided to record a modern-day version of our classic debut album INDISCREET. We have been asked many times if we would consider re-recording some of these tracks using today's modern technology and recording techniques and giving the songs the sound of FM as it is today. We realise what an iconic album this is to so many people so we have always steered clear of tampering with it too much but whilst in the studio recording the follow-up to HEROES & VILLAINS one night at the end of a session we decided to put down a backing track to "That Girl" to see how it would sound with the huge sounds we were getting at the time. It gave the song a new dynamic and power that we couldn't achieve in the '80s. We played it back the following morning and decided it would be great to hear all these classic songs with this new lease of life. We are not trying to recreate the original but this is our interpretation played by FM as we are today with the sound of FM 2016. In addition to the re-recording of the original album, INDISCREET 30 also features seven bonus tracks including brand new song "Running On Empty" and a new recording of "Let Love Be The Leader".

INDISCREET 30 was produced by FM, recorded at Tremolo Studios and Coal House Studios, Staffordshire and mixed by Jeff Knowler (METROPOLIS, ROCKVILLE and HEROES & VILLAINS).

HEROES AND VILLAINS will be released via Frontiers Music Srl - 17 April in Europe, 20 April in the UK and 21 April in N. America.

HEROES AND VILLAINS is the first FM album release since signing to Frontiers Music Srl and is due out 17 April in Europe, 20 April in the UK and 21 April in North America.

Looking forward to the release of HEROES AND VILLAINS, Steve Overland says “I think we have managed to capture the best elements of what the band are about in 2015. We had great fun making the record and we are all very proud of the finished result. There are big rock anthems in tracks like Diggin' Up The Dirt and Fire and Rain, and many melodic songs with FM’s trademark hooks and vocal harmonies. There are also not one, but two ballads. One of these (Walking With Angels) is a stripped-down acoustic song, which is something a little different for us.”

Pete Jupp added, “After our shows in November the band was white hot and the creative juices were in full flow, so the writing and recording process for HEROES AND VILLAINS was a prolific and painless affair. We're looking forward to getting back out on tour, straining at the leash.”

Merv Goldsworthy agrees: “All the songs all came together really quickly and the recording of the album went without a hitch. Once we started getting the mixes back of the first few songs we knew we were onto something. HEROES AND VILLAINS is a little rockier and a little more up tempo than ROCKVILLE, and that suits me fine! I'm really looking forward to touring this album this year - bring it on!”

“We're on a roll! Some of the tracks on this album are better than anything that the band has ever produced, and Steve’s voice is as good as ever" says Jim Kirkpatrick.

Jem Davis has given the album a retro sheen by incorporating a Moog, Mellotron and a healthy dose of Hammond organ and he is equally excited: “The band is on fire and the new album sounds HUGE! I think this is going to be an amazing year for FM!”

It is with great pleasure that we would like to announce our UK headline tour in May 2015 to support the release of our 9th studio album Heroes and Villains, released through Frontiers Records on the 20th April 2015 in the UK.
We had a great time making this album and cant wait to share it with you and play some of the new songs live.

ROCKVILLE 2 to get standalone release

We are very pleased to announce that due to the amount of interested generated in ROCKVILLE II, this album will now get a standalone release via Riff City Records on 25th March 2013.

Up till now only available as part of a two-CD ROCKVILLE package via our PledgeMusic page, ROCKVILLE II features ten new recordings, nine of which are brand new songs.  We have also included a new recording of the song "High" which was originally recorded by Steve and Pete as So! for their BRASS MONKEY album.  We love this song and wanted to give it the FM treatment!

ROCKVILLE and ROCKVILLE II will both be available from the merchandise stand at our March shows and from release date via the FM webshop and all good record stores and internet retailers.

Attend the press launch/playback for the new FM album ROCKVILLE.

New Pledge released today: On Wednesday 6th March at London O2 Academy 2 Islington we will be hosting a press launch for our new album ROCKVILLE and we have a limited number of tickets available for you to attend this event.

Doors will open at 5.30pm and the debut playback of ROCKVILLE will commence at 6.15pm.
At 7.30pm we will play a half-hour semi-acoustic live set.
After our live set it’s time to hang out for a few drinks while ROCKVILLE II gets its first airing.
