A Christmas message from Pete Jupp
As 2010 draws to a close I just thought I’d have a reflect back and thank a few people for making this year as good as any I can remember for us FM boys.
Our year started with a sold-out album launch party at The Roadhouse in London. More hugely successful headline live shows in Sheffield, Glasgow, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle, Manchester, Buckley and London followed in the spring, summer and winter. It was an absolute honour to be asked to play the main stage at Download alongside Aerosmith and other rock music legends. It was a fantastic feeling playing on that huge stage, and seeing the appreciative crowd swell with each song was a real buzz I can tell you. Our resurrected Christmas Party in December nearly fell foul of the weather but most people managed to get there somehow. Respect! We finished off our live assault with a trek into the wilds of North Wales and Hard Rock Hell - it turned out to be a fantastic night. Over the previous months I’d heard nothing but great stuff about the weekend and let me tell you everything I heard was true.
Metropolis came out in March and was very warmly received by fans and critics alike. We are very proud of the album and are so pleased you, our fans, think the same. We’re already hard at work on the follow-up.
Another amazing first for us was getting two songs playlisted on national radio after all these years of trying. We’d also like to thank all the regional and internet stations for their support during the year.
So what about 2011? Well hopefully more of the same really. We’d like to get out playing live in Europe and beyond, and there are schemes being hatched and plans afoot on that front as I write.
Winding up I just have to thank a bunch of people for working their butts off for “Team FM”:
Adrian Bell, Lidia Samson, Steve Strange, Julian Turner, John Spear, Richard Lloyd, Steve, Jo, Ali, Phil, Warren, Charles, Smudge - our crew, Dave Ling, Chris D’Adda, Jeff Knowler, John Oz, Ant Critchley, Dawn Foley, Craig Lawton, Dave and Tiff Thomas, Steve Price, Paul Anthony, Andy Fox. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some very important people but please forgive me… it's Christmas… you know who you are. Once again a special shout goes out to Firefest organisers Kieran and Bruce for pestering and cajoling us into getting back together... It really is all your fault fellas. :-)
And finally, the biggest shout of all goes out to you, our loyal, patient fans. The love we’ve felt from you all since 1984 right up to now is the reason we do this. We’re loving every single minute of our reunion and with every twist and turn we’re grateful you’re along for the ride because without you it would be a bit pointless. Thanks for spending your hard-earned cash on coming to shows, buying CDs, T-shirts etc. We really do appreciate it.
It just leaves me to wish you all the most fantastic Christmas and a happy, prosperous, but above all healthy and peaceful New Year! Thanks once again, God bless each and every one of you.
Love, light and peace,
Pete Jupp xxx

Closing date for applications is midnight Friday 26th November 2010 and places are limited so don't hesitate! Head to our Meet & Greet page for more info and to apply.
If anyone is wondering whether this will be THE unmissable Christmas Party of the Year here's a little info about the evening...
Four Wheel Drive will open proceedings at 7.10pm. Their brand of high rollin' rock 'n' roll has been getting rave reviews and we highly recommend you check them out. 4WD will be filming on the day for their first live DVD. Check out the 4WD website for more info on the band.
Good friends of FM, Airrace need no introduction. They will be taking to the stage at 8.10pm and there's a whisper that their set will include a couple of brand new songs from their currently-being-recorded new album. Don't miss them! Click for more info on Airrace.
Keeping the evening running smoothly will be Master of Ceremonies, none other than DJ Steve Price of ARfm. Mr Bah Humbug himself will be playing some cool Yule music in between bands and ensuring that matters get very out of hand...
... and so to FM. We've always loved our Christmas shows and on December 1st we're planning to have an absolute blast. To help us celebrate the evening we'll be sharing the stage with some very special guests. More details soon...
As 2010 winds down, we would like to thank everyone for helping to make this year a fantastic year for the band.
You've wholeheartedly embraced our new songs on METROPOLIS and CITY LIMITS EP and you've sung your hearts out at our shows. We can't wait to see you at our Christmas Party and at Hard Rock Hell on December 3rd. We're excited about what 2011 holds for FM and look forward to going on that trip in your very good company. We'll start 2011 on a good footing by confirming that we are delighted we'll be appearing with Thin Lizzy at London Hammersmith Apollo on 22 January 2011.

FM to release City Limits EP in October
After the fantastic success of our WILDSIDE EP, and from talking to fans at recent live shows, we are happy to announce we will be releasing the stonking CITY LIMITS EP.
The EP - featuring 9 incredible tracks - includes the radio edit of "Bring Back Yesterday" and a brand new song "Start It Up". This fantastic track will only be available on the CITY LIMITS EP and as a download - it will not feature on our next studio album. Also included is a stripped-down and sexy acoustic version of the FM classic "That Girl". As if that wasn't enough there's more...
During the band's recent live activity selected shows were recorded and the EP features live versions of "Wildside", "Hollow", "Metropolis", "Over You" and "Flamingo Road", all taken from this year's acclaimed METROPOLIS album. Bringing up the rear is another extended mix - this time "Bring Back Yesterday" gets the DJ Juppy knob-twiddling treatment.
CITY LIMITS EP will be officially released and on sale in the FMofficial webshop on October 11th for £6.00 + P&P. Those wishing to get their hands on a copy prior to the general release date can do so as the EP will be sold at the band's forthcoming October UK live shows.
Full tracklisting -
Bring Back Yesterday (Radio Edit) / Start It Up / That Girl (Acoustic Version 2010) / Wildside (Live) / Hollow (Live) / Metropolis (Live) / Over You (Live) / Flamingo Road (Live) / Bring Back Yesterday (City Limits Extended Mix)

Hollow / Flamingo Road to be released as a single 17 May 2010
FM will release their new, download only, single Hollow / Flamingo Road on 17th May 2010 via Riff City Records.
Just two of the stand-out tracks from their recently released, critically acclaimed album Metropolis, Hollow and Flamingo Road have both been singled out (no pun intended) for praise by fans and critics alike, and the single has been playlisted by the nation's biggest radio station BBC Radio 2 amongst others.
Embracing the digital age, this "double A-side" single will be available for download 17th May from all good internet stockists.

Castle Park Rock Festival Cancelled
We have today been informed by the event organisers that the Castle Park Rock Festival has been cancelled. We as a band would like to apologise to any of our fans who have already bought tickets but this situation is totally out of our control.
A spokesperson for Castle Rock said:
"With great sadness we must inform everyone that a very difficult decision has been made to cancel Castle Park Rock for 2009.
This year’s festival faced a major hiccup earlier in the year which delayed getting details of the festival out to the public. This when added to the current economic situation has forced our hands to pull what we believe (and what many have told us) to be an absolutely superb festival line-up. Terrorvision / Gun / It Bites / FM on one bill would have been superb! All fantastic UK bands!
We can only apologise to all the fans, we are genuinely as disappointed as you are.
Anyone who has purchased tickets to the event will be refunded in full, (tickets ordered via ‘Townsend’ have not been charged/debited).
We thank each & every one of you for the continued support for Castle Park Rock.
We continue to look at plans for later in the year and also towards 2010."

Mr O and Juppy interview with Steve Price on ARfm
Via Steve Price at ARfm - Tomorrow's show with luck (and we may need it as the studio will be without Electricity all day) my guests will FM. Yes, the two maddest people to interview, Pete Jupp and Steve Overland. For once this is not a live interview but one conducted as they were going through airport security and boarding a plane ...and I am not joking. Nothing like a bit of planning is there? Trust me this is nothing like a bit of planning!
Hear Steve & Pete talking about Metropolis, hear their passports being scanned, their boarding cards checked, finding their seat..... oh, and the odd comment from the cabin crew!
Hopefully EDF Energy will have us reconnected in time.... if not we'll be live as soon as they do.
Listen 6pm - 9pm on Saturday 27 March at www.arfm.co.uk

The band and crew diaries from the METROPOLIS launch party at the Roadhouse are now up on the Diary page. The response to our request for you to send in your guest fan diaries was great, thanks everyone who took part. In fact we couldn't pick just two diaries to include on the Diary page, so we have gone one better and added three! Is your diary one of them?

FM NEEDS YOU!!!
Those wonderful people at Get Ready To Rock! in their wisdom have included FM in their list of nominees for their 'Ten for 10' promotion – 10 bands they feel deserve wider attention in 2010. The 25 bands on the shortlist will be reduced to 10 by a combination of panel and public vote. The lucky 10 artists will then receive extra support from Get Ready To Rock! throughout the year in the form of regular news updates, features, reviews and exposure via their radio channel.
Here's where you come in....
Please show Get Ready To Rock! how much you love FM by clicking the button next to our band name on this GRTR page.
Voting closes Sunday 31st January. No subscription or registration required, just a few seconds of your time to click for FM.
Thanks everyone, much appreciated!

Metropolis Launch Party Meet & Greet brought forward to 6pm
Wow! The response to the Meet and Greet has been overwhelming to say the least. We have had well over 200 requests to be there! As much as we would love to be able to accommodate all you lovely people it just isn't possible, we’d probably have to cancel the gig due to writers' cramp! So what we’ve done is brought the start time forward by thirty minutes to 6.00pm giving us an extra half an hour of M&G time.
We didn't go all scientific and stuff choosing winners but we basically put all the names in a very large hat and drew out 60 people. The lucky ones will be notified by email shortly. All we ask from the recipients is that you arrive at The Roadhouse 5.45pm sharp with a copy of your confirmation email and please only bring two items to be signed at the M&G. By all means bring more stuff with you as the band will be around after the show to sign whatever you want. Obviously bring your cameras for a picture with the guys.
Good Luck!

Special Guest James Ralphs to play at FM Launch Party
We are delighted to announce that we have a special guest in the form of the hugely talented James Ralphs, son of the legendary Mott The Hoople/Bad Company guitarist/songwriter Mick Ralphs. James will be playing an acoustic set of his songs along with band mate Mat Griffiths with whom he has been collaborating for the past few years.
James Ralphs is a songwriter currently living in Brighton who writes pop music, plays piano, guitar and sings. He listens to Pop, Reggae, Folk, Indie, Jazz, Blues, Dubstep, Hip-Hop and Rock. Within his own music some might say that he takes his influences from artists such as Alex Turner, Jamie T, Jack Penate, Nizlopi, Bob Marley, Jason Mraz, Laura Marling and Mystery Jets. We think James is destined for big things. He is already causing a stir within the music industry and has studio time coming up at the world famous Abbey Road Studios later this year. We love James, so will you.
The guitar giveaway will take place as soon as the boys have had a quick rub down and a beer after their live set. Your numbered admission ticket is what you need to keep safe and sound as the ticket stubs will be used for the draw. Match your ticket with the stub drawn by the band and Bingo! - you’re a winner! You must be present at the time the draw is made to win the prizes. Before the main prize we are also giving away the book that was used for jotting things down during the recording of METROPOLIS. It also contains all the hand-written lyrics to the songs on the album. As with the guitar, the boys will be more than happy to sign it if the lucky winner wants.
After that it will be at least an hour of mayhem on the decks with DJ Juppy spinning all his and your favourite rock tunes. As The Superbowl coincides with the Launch Party, American Football fans will be delighted that we have managed to persuade the powers that be at The Roadhouse to keep the club open for this momentous sporting event.
So it’s looking very much like you’d all better remember to throw a sickie at work on the Monday as this will be a very late/drunken/riotous affair.
Not got a ticket yet? Don’t leave it too long and end up being disappointed!
You have been warned!!!
